With over a decade of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals and couples, I am committed to creating a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported. My practice is grounded in a person-centred approach, recognizing that every individual has unique experiences, strengths, and goals. I tailor therapy to reflect your personal values, lifestyle, and circumstances, drawing on evidence-based approaches to develop solutions that are meaningful and sustainable for you.
Together, we will explore the challenges you are facing, identify barriers to your well-being, and develop practical strategies to help you move forward with greater confidence and resilience.
I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with both Master of Social Work (MSW) and Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degrees. My advanced training includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples, Trauma Counselling, Motivational Interviewing, and Interpersonal Mediation. I also offer faith-informed psychotherapy for Muslim clients who wish to integrate their spiritual beliefs into the therapeutic process.
My professional perspective has been shaped by 16 years of experience in the Ontario Public Service, where I worked in Human Rights advocacy, as well as my current role as a hospital social worker. I work with adults across the lifespan from diverse cultural, ethnic, religious, and linguistic backgrounds, including refugees, newcomers to Canada, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to providing culturally responsive, inclusive, and respectful care.
I support clients experiencing a wide range of concerns, including stress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship challenges, sexual orientation and identity concerns, sexual dysfunction, substance use, and other life difficulties. Whether you are facing a specific issue or navigating a significant life transition, I am here to provide support tailored to your unique circumstances.
When I'm not meeting with clients, you'll likely find me:
• Continuing courses and professional training to expand my knowledge and offer a broader range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
• Travelling to experience new cultures, perspectives, and life experiences that enrich both my personal growth and my understanding of others.
• At the gym, building physical strength and resilience while creating the mental space needed to stay focused, energized, and present.
• Practising yoga, nurturing both body and mind through movement, mindfulness, and balance.
I believe that taking care of my own well-being allows me to show up fully for my clients—with greater presence, perspective, and compassion—so I can offer you the best possible support on your therapeutic journey.
